TJCO Perc Outing

Rhythm XXIII

Credentium and Carmen Suite!! O man... So so so so so much memories. So happy to see our squad again. Like how often do you see so many of us together. I dun think I would have ever seen Zhuo Yang if I didn't go see this concert.

Teared and sweated through happiness and hardships together.

My usual go-home-together gang. :P

Makes me miss my percussion days actually. I used to dread those practices. Now thinking of it, it is worth the effort then. :)

New Dunman

My first visit back to Dunman ever since it shifted back to Tanjong Rhu. Omg! It's so huge now! We finally have our own tracks and a decent field. :P

Parts of the compound still looked quite raw and unpolished though. Thank goodness the classic features remained the same.

Such as the spiral staircase. The piano has been shifted though.

正心院 is still existent. Now with added little stone pavements. The shelter still stands but the pond is now filled with land. The kois are gone!! Brought home and eaten by Edwin, he claimed. Wahaha.

The canteen has been changed too. It's now wider and more spacious. To house even more students now with the Senior High division.

Now with a long stretch of notice boards along the side walls of the canteen with the schedules of all CCAs. Some CCAs were totally unheard of during our times. Omg... Sounds like we really left for kinda long.

My 4A classroom is no longer a classroom. It's been partitioned into 2 portions and converted into a CCA room. Which CCA using that room I don't know.

Not only mine was changed. Edwin's 4H has been converted into a I-dun-even-know-what-room was-that.

New blocks were raised from flat ground too. Like this one. Kinda tall. If I didn't remember wrongly, think it was a whole block of classrooms.

Saw some pond in the midst of nowhere amongst these new blocks. For inspiration to the kids in writing?

To even add on to the amazement, there's a Popular bookstore. O no... Does that mean the former friendly bookshop auntie is jobless liao??

There's now a performing arts centre! That houses up to 800 people.

Looking around the campus, hearing stories from the less law-abiding Dunmanian Edwin, I wondered if I have missed out a lot being a law-abiding student all my life. Haha. Getting into trouble with the discipline master definitely wasn't the best situation to be in, but it's really quite some memories you'd bring home and smile when you look back years later. Probably that's why right now I'm enjoying my internship at Regulatory, pushing the limits of rules and regulations, something I haven't been doing all these while.

Not some time to look back and regret anyway. Nonetheless, Dunman was the most memorable phase of my education.

updates

I've been procrastinating my updates... Here's a really quick one for last last week.

26 May 2009 - Seeing Weiwei Off

Yuexin's back and Wei's off to Japan! O man... I'm stuck here. Enjoying myself though. :P

27 May 2009 - Ran into Ibu Siantik

It was so nice to run into Ibu Siantik amidst the high rise buildings in Raffles Place on a Wednesday afternoon. Wahaha. She's teaching BI every Wednesday. Next time can jio her go makan siang. :)

29 May 2009 - Release of Results and Edana's Last Day

They are fine. CAP didn't change. Glad that I pulled through 6 modules this sem. Milestone of my academic life. :P

It's Edana's last day at work. Thanks for recruiting me. :) Hee. Really a model for us to learn from. Well-liked by her kah kias and manages both her work and family well. O man... I hope I can be like her in future.

Went shopping with my colleagues. Haha. Sue Shan and I bought the same dress of different colours. Must discuss when to wear to work so prevent clashes. :P

It's interesting to talk to these ladies. Hee. They're like my elder sisters shielding me from potential threats etc, which was quite funny at times. :P Wahaha

31 May 2009 - Avelyn's Birthday Celebration + Terminator

Avelyn's 1 year-old! But we celebrated her birthday later. Roxy Grand Mercure's Feast at East. Omg. It's another buffet! And it's much better than the Holiday Inn's restaurant where we treated our mums on Mother's Day. The durian cake here was like heavenly! Omg. This holiday is circling around food (read: buffet). Omg... This is bad... :S Wahaha.

Supposed to have cello lesson. But then cello teacher cancelled lesson and jio-ed movie instead. Faint. Roles exchanged.

A lot of action. When I say a lot, I really mean it's A LOT. Wahaha. I guess there is no 2 minutes of zero action. The plot was thin though. And I didn't really understand the story actually. Until I consulted my brother, the walking sci-fi wikipedia. Wahaha. It's some time travel kinda thing that made everything to complicated.

1 Jun 2009 - 纵贯线座谈会

Thanks Guan Hong for the tickets and sorry for spoiling your date. Wahaha. :P

A-Yue was so cute lah! While Emil was speaking on behalf of the band, think A-Yue got bored and started playing his handphone. Jonathan Lee took out his camera and started taking photos of the audience etc. A-Yue and Jonathan Lee even ended up taking self-portrait of themselves on the stage. Faint. Wahaha.

3 Jun 2009 - Cindy's Birthday Celebration

Happy Belated Birthday to Cindy! :) Cindy wore a dress!! :) :) :)

O man. So I owe both of them presents now... Hello girls... Let's set a date and dedicate that day for your presents shopping can... Wahaha. We're like procrastinating it to forever. :P Shopping was fun! Wahaha.

4 Jun 2009 - Meet-Up with Ahnehkins

Heard so much about interesting stories in the hospitals. Sounds like I have a lot a lot to learn when I do my pre-reg. And I feel super slack compared to them. I haven't been mugging at all all these while, whereas the rest in the hospital seem to have a lot of revision. mugging and reading up to do. Think I'll have a steep learning curve later on. No matter what I'll still wanna earn my license anyway. So I guess I'll enjoy myself and my exciting journey in my internship for now. :P Hee.

5 Jun 2009 - Cello Lesson + Movie Stunt

Cello lesson after work. O man. It was so so so tiring. And I haven't been really practising actually. This is bad. I'm loosing steam amongst work and stuff. Think I better work harder and do well for exams this September.

Was duped or rather abducted to go watch movie. The big direction idiot me didn't realise that we weren't going towards my home! Faint. Wahaha.

Eh... Maybe I had high expectations. The first one was good, though I don't remember what happened in that movie. The second one wasn't that fantastic. It was only okay-ly funny ba. Ben Stiller was good though. :P

6 Jun 2009 - Juxtapose Meeting

Omg! Sengkang community centre was so so so so so so freaking hot!! I almost melted during the meeting. Even Huihuang across the meeting table offered to lend me his newspaper to fan myself. Think my budget was too crumpled after all those fanning. Wahaha. Faint. Like Jianxiong said, will definitely remember this meeting sia.

Didn't join them for kite flying though I would've loved to. Had a concert to catch at night. Thankfully for a ride to Dunman by Edwin. I would have freaked out to travel to school from Sengkang can... Wahaha.

The scenario in Edwin's car was quite funny. 3 Dunmanians, all from different classes, different CCAs and different batches. Kinda interesting.

Took a tour in the new Dunman High and watched Rhythm XXIII. I think it deserves a better feature in a separate post.

Summary of the Week

19 May 2009 - Cindy and Yinting

Met up with my favourite girls. Sorry gals. Think I was kinda tired that day, but it was really really nice have all three of us to meet up!! :) So so happy that Yinting's project got selected for the competition. So proud of her!! And she seems quite happy job-shadowing in a clinic. :) Really glad to hear that. Cindy jiayou with work!! It's barely one week (or was it less?). Look forward to payday! :) Hee.

Let's meet up again. For GSS shopping!!!! :) :) I just got my pay by the way. Yay!! High time to shop!! :P

(Please remember not to wear heels :P)

22 May 2009 - Guan Hong and Barry

Jiayou pandas! It's not easy. But we're strong bears and pig ya. :)

Guan Hong please mug hard!! :)

Anyway, I still want my sticky chewy chocolate. :P

By the way, cakes at Cedele were wohoo!! :) Thanks Guan Hong for the treat! :)

23 May 2009 - Kite Flying with MINDS

Had Juxtapose meeting and then outing to MINDS. I really enjoyed myself there. It reminded me of my volunteer experience with SDSC. Probably had some experience there, thus it was easier this time round. :) And really glad the little girl whom I took care of enjoyed herself. :) Running with me, or rather (later) watch me run. :P

Kite flying!! Omg!! It was really fun. :P Running in my jeans wasn't that comfortable though. :P

And found ANOTHER Dunmanian!! :)

Went to visit mao mao in the evening. He's so DAO!! :( Think probably he feels too neglected recently. Poor boy.

24 May 2009 - Steamboat with Colleagues

Cello in the morning was cancelled. :( Nevermind.

Had steamboat at Agnes' house!! :) She has a dog, Baby, who was so so so so cute!! She is such a lap puppy. :) If only mao mao is like tt too. Anyway, the soup base was fantastic! :) 小肥羊 from China. Hee. Courtesy of Chooi Hoong. Made orders from Wendy who's still in Shanghai. Yay!! Dear Pandas, next steamboat outing we'll use that eh. :P

Great to work with these ladies. Nice and fun people! :) :) I'm so looking forward to the apple crumble we made. :) :)

O yah. They said something which I think will invoke Colin to wanna bash me up. They said I looked like Linda Chung!! Wahaha. Yay!! I take that as a compliment, though I don't really like her. O well. She's Miss HK you know? :P

About Work

Milestones of the week
  1. First overseas fax (to Vietnam)
  2. First call to HSA
  3. First site initiation visit
Haha. I sound like some extremely amateur noob. Happy over such small things. :P O well. I am anyway. Hee. Lowest in the hierarchy of the har mo. :P

Mayday
Thanks Vivian for getting the tickets of us! :) 辛苦了! Give ya a treat to bubble tea the next time we meet ya? :)

Random
I gained what I lost. I'm referring to weight. :P I realised I don't really see my cheeks when I put on blusher. :S O man. I've been eating non-stop but haven't been exercising... Bought donuts recently somemore... Darn...

Tomorrow is the start of a new (working) week. Alright! Jiayou jiayou!!

Summary of the Week

10 May 2009 - Project Ohana 2009 with the Juxtaposers

We're so fortunate to have a zai professional photographer with us and an owner of a car in the team. *winks + grins* :P And I found another fellow Dunmanian! Wahaha

Mother's Day Dinner at Holiday Inn - Window by the Park

Cousins treated our moms (and dads) to buffet. :)

I was obviously very happy with the salmon sashimi! :P Hee. Yum yum yummy yum!

Extreme left: A very happy grandmother :) Special gift (read: Avelyn) in her arms this mother's day. :)

Pattern-多过-badminton nephews :) :)

:)

13 May 2009 - Sounders

We finally met! :) Yuexin's still enjoying her Europe trip though. Earthquake at Swensen's was very shiok! :P

The whole night we were all talking about work and I foresee that that's the direction we're moving towards in future. O dear... How much we've aged...

And I realised that I'm the only one who needs to study hard next semester. The NTU gals have graduated, Jon is going on SEP in London (all mods on S/U basis) and Bingyi is doing his exchange in SMU (all mods in S/U basis too)... Sian...

Nonetheless, for now let's all work hard and hang on tight for our internships (that's weiwei Bingyi and me) and 8-MCs exchange for Jon. :)

14 May 2009 - Corporate Farewell Lunch

The manager who interviewed me is leaving end of the month... :( Quite a number in the company is job hopping...

Met the ang moh GM, who was quite friendly though. I was back at Swensen's again... Wahaha. :P This time round for free though. :P The one-for-one lunch time offer was really good. :P My sticky chewy chocolate sundae was fantastically fabulously beyond words!! :P

That lunch was kinda stressful initially. I sat in front of my boss's boss and my boss's boss's boss. And in the end it turned out quite funny too. :P Realised that my boss's boss's boss was from TJ, while my boss's boss was from VJ. Talking about stereotypes and stuff like that which was quite interesting. Stereotypes didn't seem to change over some 20 years. :P

15 May 2009 - Yunan 06 outing *winks*

Steamboated and dessert-ed. Hee. :) :) :) :) :)

It's been so long since I met them. We never run outta things to suan each other about. :P

Looking back into the entire week, I've been eating a lot... Mother's Day buffet, farewell lunch for my boss and this steamboat... O man... This is no good... :S I can kinda visualise that my arteries are starting to block. :S

16 May 2009 - Angels and Demons

Caught Angels and Demons with my cello teacher. It was quite stressful. Wahaha. He booked the tickets at Filmgarde. We kept thinking it was at Bugis Junction itself. Only at like the very last minute we realised it was Shaw at Bugis Junction and Filmgarde was the one at the new shopping centre in Bugis. Bleah. Wahaha. Kk. We shan't be sua gu anymore... :P

The movie was good. :) It was pretty long but it was never boring for a moment. Hmm... Just that I got a bit restless after sitting in that same seat for like more than 2 hours...

I didn't read the book. Perhaps those who had may think otherwise?

TJCO concert - Musique Pour Toujours

Their SYF choice piece was fantastic! Gold with honours. A dream that they helped us to fulfil. :)

I wasn't really paying attention to the very minute detail throughout the concert. Probably that's why I enjoyed most of the concert. :P Just that one or two pieces I didn't really like though.

It was really nostaligic. Memories in TJ was like a film playback streaming in my mind while listening to the concert. Memories of my first practice in CO were vivid. I remembered I was playing the tympani. 黄老师 tried really hard to make my strokes sound more cheena. Haha. And my nightmare with the 排鼓 at PAYCO was quite scary... :P I still remember it was 长城随想! It was really OMG!!!!! :S

I suddenly wanna go back. Both Dunman and TJ. Wahaha. Jio my Dunmanian and TJCian teman to go. :P :P

17 May 2009 - Shopping with Ah Pek! :)

GSS hasn't started, but my shopping mood has. I haven't been really shopping for the entire past semester. Like really go out and physically shop. Most of the time during the sem I was sadly only shopping at bazaars in school and online shopping. Hee.

That pink bottle-like thing wasn't part of my shopping though. It's an umbrella from Guan Hong who bought it in Taiwan! Hee. Thanks bro!! :)

Flower and meow-y bank as Avelyn's birthday present. :) Heels, blusher and foundation for myself. :P Hee.

Work

I kinda enjoy my work there. :P (though it's tiring) Interesting to find out that my boss is a pharmer, my boss's boss and my boss's boss's boss were medical doctors but have chosen not to practise anymore. I didn't expect to run into doctors here actually. Maybe should be kaypo and ask them why they chose this route one day. Hee.

On a lighter note, about the cheapo zuee. It's only been one and a half weeks over there but I've been receiving a lot of goodies. :P Ranging from pens and notebooks to bottles and towels. Hee. :P Printed with the drug names though. Hee.

My mentor has arranged quite some rotation for me. Akan datang. :) It'll be great to meet new people. :)

Okay. Tmr is the start of a new week. Jiayou everyone!! :) We'll beat those Monday blues! :P

weekend

Had cello lesson today! Like finally. Unfortunately I was kinda lethargic with accumulated fatigue from exams and work. To make things worse, my A string snapped, AGAIN. :( That means more money to get it replaced. :(

Anyway, caught X-men Origins with my cello teacher after my class today.

Hugh Jackman is really mesmerizing. Oops! I hoped I didn't drool during the movie. Hee. I kinda like Gambit also. They probably found the right guy with the Gambit kinda tone, accent and persona. Erm... Guess it'd be much better if his hair was shorter. Hee.

O well. It's the weekend, but like during exams, I hung around in the east. And perhaps that's why ran into a couple of friends. Ran into Wenjian, Stephanie and my cello teacher's parents. (O Van I saw you at Tampines One Carl's Junior too! Didn't call you because Tampines One was ridiculously crowded. Haha.) It's nice to see familiar people around. It also reminded me that I haven't met these people for quite a while. O man... There are so many people I wanna meet up with... Hopefully there's enough time this hols.

random

Was clearing old messages in my inbox and came across my conversation with Ben. Come to think of it, it was quite funny.

After biotech paper I went Tampines to return some books, ran into a guy who called out to me 'Hi Xueting!'. He looked very familiar and I believed he was my band junior. I didn't dare to ask who he was and just said 'O hi!'. We didn't stop to talk anyway. After that I tried really hard to recall what his name was or even which section was he from... After several minutes of trying-hard-to-recall with my post-biotech exam residual brain function, it seemed futile. So I text Ben hoping to get some clue from him. He threw a few names at me but still, none seem to ring a bell...

O dear... How? Is that a sign of old age? :S Premature dementia?

of post -work

Kumpul-kumpul BI4

Xueting has proven herself to be some direction idiot by taking a bus in the wrong direction to rumah Ibu Jo. :S O well. I got there eventually.

Was really really really happy to see the BI-ians. :) :) Haven't seen them since BI oral exam until Thurs night!

O man. I'll miss them lots. Those classroom discussions and our gelap-gelap business. Wahaha. Unfortunately even if I were to continue with BI5 (if I still have sufficient SU), may not see all of them either. In any case, hope everyone does well in whatever they do. :)

Cello concerto and SSO concert

Thanks Hau Yee for the lobang and the fried oyster treat! :) Hee

ST12 - CARI PACAR LAGI

Lebih baik ku putuskan saja, cari pacar lagi!

ST 12 _PUSPA

MTV yang punya bujet kecil. :P Oops!! Tetapi masih lagu yang aku suka banget! :P

work

Xueting now appreciates the importance of writing a good lab report. :)

Xueting called to China for IT assistance, the Chinese counterpart connected to the IT guy seated beside me via internet to inform him to assist me. Creative eh...

Xueting's office mouse is a marketing product of Verdenafil. *wink*

Xueting receives an Omron thermometer for FREE!! Like how atas... OMRON thermometer.

Hee. :D

Post Exams

While everyone else (referring to year 3s) is finding means to fill up their new found 6 weeks of planless holidays, Xueting has started her first day in office today. The hang out with ahnekins yesterday marked end of exam stress and also end of my pre-work break. Faint. :P

Ask me what happened during my exams this sem...

Erm... *trying very hard to recall*, I only vaguely remember PK (which was actually yesterday's paper) was quite tough, especially Eric's questions. Hmm... I hope I mugged sufficiently hard to do well enough overall.

But in any case, about work. The office is so pretty can! I think they are pretty rich. :P The pantry serves tea, coffee and quite a range of supplements and health products that the company produces. I'm amazed. :P And I'm glad my table is of quite a comfortable size. It's not like what I imagined to be a small claustrophobia-inducing cubicle. :P

I must say my colleagues are pretty nice. Hee. About 10 of them, all very friendly. :) I hope it's not a facet. Looking back at my employment history, other than my preceptorship, the environment doesn't seem to be that friendly and wasn't exactly pleasant. I hope these 3 months here will be good. :P

Sat in through the monthly department meeting today, i.e. first day of work. Like how lucky (or not). Hmm... Seems like my pharmacist boss has a bit of expectations from his pharmer intern here. Think I'll learn quite a bit from him.

Product training tomorrow!! :) Yay!! It's not as boring as just plain office work eh. :P

O well. It's hols!! :) (or not) It means no lectures, no lab reports, no tutorials, no squeezing onto A1/2. :P
